The Button Club would like to invite you to join the Annual Open Day for the Friends of the Castle of Mey at Highgrove Gardens on Monday 16th June 2008 in support of The Queen Elizabeth Castle of Mey Trust
Her Majesty The Queen has very kindly given us permission to include a private tour of Frogmore House and the Gardens as part of the calendar of events for 2008 for Patrons and other supporters of the Castle of Mey .
We are delighted to have been given this rare opportunity to send you an invitation to view one of Her Majesty’s private gardens and have a tour of the house, neither of which is open to the public.
Alan Titchmarsh, Honorary Patron of the Friends of the Castle of Mey , has very generously agreed to host this special day and to show our guests the Gardens at Frogmore whilst sharing his enthusiasm for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother’s gardens at Mey. Mr Mark Flanagan, Keeper of the Gardens and Mr Neil Dodds Head Gardener at Frogmore will also be on hand to impart their knowledge and to answer questions.
Our Honorary Patron, Lady Elizabeth Anson, who gives so fully of her time to the Trust, will also be supporting us on this day overseeing the arrangements for lunch and afternoon tea in the Duchess of Kent’s Drawing Room provided by the exceptional Mustard Catering. I am sure that it will be a memorable day on many counts.
The Royal Library will be putting together a special display in the house centered around Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, without whose foresight the Trust would never have been created.
The proceeds from the day will contribute to the continuing maintenance and development of the Castle and Gardens at Mey. Donations to The Queen Elizabeth Castle of Mey Trust ensure that the Queen Mother’s legacy of the gift of her North Highland home to the community continues to be secured for the enjoyment of future generations.
Tickets are from £75. Please e-mail kaja@thebuttonclub.com if you would like to attend. |
