Julie Verhoeven is one of the world's most in-demand artists and designers. Her custom-drawn and designed handbags for Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton have made her a fashion-industry legend. Her designs for Kate Moss, Martine Sitbon, John Galliano and Nouvelle Vague are sought-after and valuable.
Riflemaker Gallery hosted an exhibition showing Julie Verhoeven's installation Ver-boten, Ver-Saatchi, Ver-Heaven, her first room layout. A creation based on seven dressing-screens.
The gallery was heaving of fashion and art industry's heavy weights as well as art lovers and fashionistas. Vogue was there and everyone else followed suit. We drank delicious coctails and spilled out to the pavements in front of the gallery as it was a hot summer night. Julie was scribbling away on the pavement dressed up in an eccentric costume barely recognisable. Her installation was definitely amazing! An artist to follow! |
