The Button Club Proudly Presents….. ‘The Fall of Rome’
The organisers of The Bloodlust Ball have conjured up another fun evening of exciting, themed entertainment…
Friends, Romans, Party-seekers, lend me your ears!
Polish your chariots, dress in your finest brocades, and mingle with celebrities. That’s right! You are invited to the most exciting themed party of the season, ‘The Fall of Rome’.
This flamboyant celebration of Ancient Rome will take place at the picturesque 18th century Beauberry House in Dulwich, on Friday, 8th June, from 8:00 p.m., until 5:00 a.m. the next morning, when Rome will have fallen into the hands of barbarians. Those of us brave enough to be left standing and dancing, will take chariots home.
Join Hosts: Kaja Wunder, Henry Northcroft and Ibi Issolah for a glamorous night of spectacular indulgence, including harps, flutes and bongos, a lavish feast in Ancient Roman style of spit-roast, grill, salads, cheeses, fruits, chocolates and sweets, accompanied by Roman wine. Exotic activities will take place on three terraces, four bars, numerous galleries, gazebos, and in the enchanting gardens. Musicians, fire dancers, living statues, temple dancers, gladiators and other Roman characters will lend this fairytale venue with the true spirit of the occasion.
As the Roman Empire waits to fall into the merciless hands of barbarians, we beseech you to take refuge in Dulwicheum Capitoleum, to spend our last hours indulging in the pleasures of love and life, to feast on the nectars of Mother Earth, and to forget the destruction ahead of us.
The Fall of Rome is a night to be decadent, excessive, daring and greedy. Anything goes, so long as it’s outrageous!
Come, dear friends, and join the noblest of statesmen for this delicious, historical romp through one of the most colourful periods in history. I look forward to seeing you all for a night of extravagant antics!
Dress Code: Roman Imperial Ball – think Julius Caesar, Gladiators, Toga, colourful courtesans in long, flowing dresses, lashings of gold jewellery and sandals. Come as Gods and Goddesses, Egyptians, Greeks, slaves, savages, pagans, clerics, poets, painters, sculptors, eunuchs or barbarians. Whatever inspires you!
See you there!
